Hola,
Really getting to used to the regular greetings here on the Camino: Hola, Buenos Dias, Buen Camino … and a few others I am still trying to understand. Not to mention other languages…
As I mentioned in previous posts, I am having the chance to meet people from all over the world – on the trail, coffee stops, meals and of course in the albergues ( ie hostels). I have included a couple of pictures of the albergues living.
Communal living is certainly interesting, to date no one has complained of me snoring. Enough said!
I have really come to appreciate the albergues that have evening communal or group meals. This is a time not only to have good food and wine, but also to get know people. A couple of nights ago a few of us shared a meal AND none of us spoke the others language. Awkward at first, but through gestures, looks, eye contact etc we managed and enjoyed the evening. we all have bonded and have a smile for each other along the way. For the record, when one the people of this group sees me on the road or at a stop they call me Canada.
Well, the Camino experience continues. I am still struggling with my feet, much better the last couple of days but it has really slowed me down. I have taken this as a sign from the Lord to slow down and take in the experience. One of those life lessons.
As time goes on I find myself being a little homesick. Everything from the language, food etc. Not knowing anyone, and my mind drifting back to my loved ones, friends, parish and ministry back home. At least I’m not home having to endure the brutal season the Tiger Cats are having lol!
Please know you are in my prayers. For those who have submitted prayer requests- please know I pray daily for these intentions. Thank you for entrusting me with these requests.
Buen Camino!
Hi Randy:
We are glad to know that 2 weeks into your pilgrimage you are getting more “into it.” — meeting people — the Spanish as well as fellow pilgrims. Sorry to hear about those blisters on your feet — can’t do much about it except rest them and that’s almost impossible to do and still keep moving. I’m sure that slowing down will help some. You mention missing your family and friends and in return, we all miss you too. It’s so good that you can keep in contact with your family via Skype. We pray for you and it is comforting to know that you are praying for our needs.

I think best you save any Ti-Cats prayers for the 2018 season…
God bless
Buen Camino Randy,
We just came back from your beautiful PEI. We had a great time there.
We wish you all the best on your journey and we are preying for you.
Safe passage Randy!
Fabulous journey you are experiencing!
