Buenos dias from Burgos Spain.
I attended Mass today at Catedral de Santa Marie XIII. Beautiful, I am getting used to not hearing any English, hearing only Spanish. Two thoughts occurred to me – one, I’m starting to pickup on more words in Spanish during Mass, and secondly, I hope I remember my parts of the Mass when I get home! Lol.
Approximatly 290 km completed and 490 km to go. So far so good, however my feet have been a challenge. I have received some treatment and now it is time to take a day off and enjoy this beautiful city.
I think I trained reasonably well for the Camino, however I don’t think much can prepare you the hills and the type of paths. Here are a few pictures off some types of paths. Up, down, flat … the terrain can be wearing. I’m not complaining, this is what it is and so be it – deal with it.
I attempt to pray the full rosary daily, the chaplet and attend Mass when I can. However, the prayer that comes spontaneously and impulsively is:
‘Oh Lord, my God I lift up my heart to you! Oh Lord my God my life belongs to you’.
Another impromptu prayer:
‘Jesus Christ Son of the living God have mercy on me a sinner’
Before signing off, happy belated birthday to my niece Melanie. Blessings to you and the upcoming year.
As always, please pray for me as I pray for you.
Buen Camino
